FORT WORTH, Texas – American Airlines has filed an application with the U.S. Department of Transportation for the right to operate new service from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) to Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) beginning next summer. With the load factor up, especially after the merger, they can't be all bad or they would be falling back into bankruptcy again. Somebody either likes them or they are so big, they are just a necessary evil.
