Stalking world's biggest planes makes for photos that say 'wow'
And for many folks who appreciate the world's biggest airplanes -- that statement is true both figuratively and literally. For 23 years at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, aircraft mechanic John Taylor left his sweat and elbow grease on dozens of C-5 Galaxies -- one of the largest military aircraft on Earth. Great shots of these Megabeasts! When I was a boy,I thought the Canadair CL-44 looked impressive!!
شيئ مذهل
Soviet AN 225 is by far the biggest plan, I did inspection work on the C5-A test aircraft during my days at Lockheed back in the 60's Just lots of aluminum honeycomb to keep weight down which caused lots of problems during the plane's service life and the old TF-39 engines were noisy and fuel hogs, now the C5's are being retrofitted with CF-60's much quiter and fuel efficent.
I could have said something about "size" there but that would be going far beyond cliche. But seriously though I agree with you when you say "it should not just be about size rather it should be about personal impact upon the soul and all aircraft enthusiast know what I mean". B-25, Lancaster, Mozzie, C-130, Embraer E-190 (the list goes on) all have that "personal impact" on me but having said that though the AN-225....I mean, honestly there are no words I could utter that would do her justice, none whatsoever.
Thank you all for 44 Thumbs up :D
I am very interested in seeing the A380 bank 180 degrees! That would be fascinating!
