June 15, 2014 An air traffic controller's joke diverted a plane from landing and it is considered no laughing matter by the Federal Aviation Administration who is investigating the incident. This potentially dangerous joke was told to a pilot landing at Hartsfield-Jackson Atanta International Airport, according to FCN News on June 13. Air traffic controller's 'joke' diverts plane

The FAA is investigating an incident between a Delta Air Lines plane and an air traffic controller at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport. Recordings released reveal the controller was joking with the pilot and ended up diverting the plane.

A delayed landing at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport last week has been blamed on a “joke” by an air traffic controller, and the Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
The pilot of Delta Flight 630 from Detroit canceled his landing on June 11, 2014, after the air traffic controller told him not to land and to circle the airport instead. (USA Today)
