Great photo Colten of my favorite aircraft - J3 Cub.
Long ago, I did my solo in one of these fine birds, Just turned 16 so was legal....year 1946
my mom learned to fly in one of these little birds--1944--
Saw the military version @ an airshow in PGH (KAGC) She was excited to see it.

Been many a long year but love flying the cub. Low and slow, cars whizzing by on the road below. Side window open. Don't get no better.
My brother just bought a pre-cub plane--'46 Taylorcraft-same color as this picture, but much the same.
I, too, soloed in one of these on my 16th birthday, but in 1956, ten years after Mr. Sanderson. Spent two hours flying all over Marin County, CA. Still one of my most memorable days.
An older version of the Piper Colt I learnt to fly on.
