Looks like a C131B or possibly a D. B model entry door on the left side, D model had the square exhaust. This is maybe a D as it appears to have a service and cargo door on the right. B model didn't have those.
Civilian registered as N131CW, a Convair C-131D, serial number 54-280, c/n 205.

Iain... the USAF s/n would be 54-2809 on this Convair - apparently just a typo or transposition error with that last digit lost.

According to Joe Baugher's published information this one was built as a Convair C-131D-CO Samaritan, the fifth in a sequence starting at 54-2805 and ending at 54-2825.

Mr. Baugher adds this: "2809 (MSN 205) formerly on civil registry as N8426H (my edit - was registered to Convair according to the FAA registry). To USAF Oct 26, 1954. To MASDC as CS078 Nov 19, 1989. To civil registry as N6288Y. Later N131CW with Classic Wings Inc, Vero Beach, FL. Donated to Southern California Wing of Commemorative AF at Camarillo, CA. In 2013 was in Yanks Museum, Chino, California."
