This is a beautiful photograph of this aircraft. Where is this museum located? what is the model of this plane?

Looks like the National Museum of the US Air Force near Dayton, Ohio....

YF-23 - The competitor to the F22 Raptor. Northrop lost that contract.

Great catch. I had the opportunity to be close to other one YF-23 aircraft around 1999 at Western Museum of Flight (https://www.wmof.com)

Maybe so Randy. Mil-procurement was still a petty mess in those days (as if it were not, today). I Still think if the AF had not been so hard-over for the 22 and had taken the Navy compromise version they could have had a better airplane for less money (USN payin' their share of development), not to mention a more extensible platform for the future. But I guess it turned out OK, maybe the Navy did not need an ATF gen acft anyway...

National Museum of the US Air Force is just off I-675 between Dayton and Fairborn. You can't do it justice in one day.

Great pix :-)

Thank's folks. Yes, this is the National Museum of the Air Force by Dayon, Ohio. Free Admission, Free Parking, with a nice (but expensive gift shop - but hey - it costs a lot of money to run a first class museum like this) Anyway, it is adjacent to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. I'd love to see them build a tanker annex with the KC-135, KC-10, L-1011 for starters. Hopefully when they retire at least one of the two current 747 Air Force One's to the museum.

@ John. The NMUSAF just received KC-135R 60-0329 whose crew won the Mackay Trophy for the crews’ actions in May 1967. Then, it ‘Daisy-chained’ refueled two Douglas KA-3 Skywarriors, two Vought F-8 Crusaders, & two McDonnell F-4 Phantom II’s off Vietnam; all @ the same time. This was after refueling two USAF F-104 Starfighters.
