Boeing 737-700 (N7835A) - Although the visual angle of this shot might make it seem that Southwests N7835A is lined up to land on Bravo taxiway, the shadow on the ground gives the true picture .... the SWA fleetbird, arriving from KLAS at 10 AM, is correctly lined up to land on KRNOs 34L as Americans N742PS, dressed in the colorful PSA heritage livery, waits at the 34L HOLD line.

If the PSA schemebird had been in this location just a few minutes earlier, I could have clicked JBU's New York International heritage paint in a picture with this PSA scheme holding. That would have been a fantastic catch. But the jetBlue landed just as the PSA was taxiing away from the terminal. I did get them together in several clicks, but it was when both were taxiing.

Cool shot, Gary! And you're right, at first I thought the Southwest bird was on the ground.

It sure could look that way, Greg. As I was cropping it, I realized how misleading it looked. So I decided I had to crop it so the shadow was still in the shot. And I left just enough of the runway markings in so the reality that the SW was still in the air and passing in front of the AA and was lined up with the runway became more obvious. It is weird how the eye and the mind can be misled if only some part of an entire scene is presented. Also, in the next shots of the series, the shadow gets closer to the jet and then they come together as the SW touches down. Rather neat series of clicks. (Wave)
