N405LC — - Coulson Groups Tanker 32 (N405LC), a Lockheed L-382G, is snapped here on May 20, 2016, as it climbs into a strong wind during takeoff from Reno Stead Airport (KRTS). The wind and clouds were the prelude to a rapidly approaching storm, and about 30 minutes later as this aircraft was on approach to KRTS the storm, a SNOWSTORM, arrived with such intensity and visibility became so poor that N405LC had to divert to Reno Tahoe International and land there. It isnt particularly rare for this area to experience snow just one month before the beginning of summer, but this storm was really VERY intense.br /When listing the aircraft type, I used the FAAs official designation (L-382G), but it should be noted that this model is also frequently IDed as an L-100-30.

Coulson Group's Tanker 32 (N405LC), a Lockheed L-382G, is snapped here on May 20, 2016, as it climbs into a strong wind during takeoff from Reno Stead Airport (KRTS). It isn't particularly rare for this area to experience snow just one month before the beginning of summer, but this storm was really VERY intense.
When listing the aircraft type, I used the FAA's official designation (L-382G), but it should be noted that this model is also frequently IDed as an L-100-30.

There were two Coulson Tankers at RTS: this one and N130FF (Tanker 131 - I posted a pic of it yesterday). Thanks to Captain Tim, I obtained a few hundred superb captures of both aircraft and also the Coulson corporate aircraft. TYVM, Capt. Tim. :-)

Another excellent shot of one of the tankers! That's amazing how quickly the weather turned bad. I also like how you got the windsock in the shot to show how strong the wind was.

That is a nice pic, Gary! Mark makes a good point regarding the windsock. It does look like there is a pretty good breeze blowing there! And I'm guessing it was a little on the cool side, too, if you had a snowstorm go through there. So, I hope you made it home that day without any problems! Take care and keep up the great work, eh! We appreciate it!

Nice Gman - maybe I'll see this in KRDD this summer.
