Boeing 737-800 (N3737C) - Finding the photo I just posted into the FA gallery of the UAL "Blue Tulip" tail next to the TED (UAL) "Yellow Tulip" tail, both of which no longer exist, made me go looking for any other tail livery designs that are now nonexistent. I discovered this snap of Deltas N3737C, a B738, taken several years ago when the tail was painted in DALs "Colors in Motion" scheme, as it approaches Reno-Tahoe Internationals runway 16R back in 2008. Personally, I liked this tail design more than todays present blue and red Widget arrangement, but I was never a huge fan of these flowing colors either. My all-time favorite Delta livery is the one that featured the "Classic Widget" on the tail.

Thanks, Mathias. This is an "oldie" photo. The B738 is still flying, but the tail paint design will never be seen in the skies again. Neither will the "Tulip" tail designs on the United A320s in the early-dawn picture I posted just before this one.

Great photo Gary, this one brings back some old memories. While we are on the subject of old liveries, one of my favorites of all is the older Frontier design with the cursive writing on the 737-300s they had at the time.
