Nice trip down memory lane!

Quite the snow picture. Burrrrrr! Powerful, comfortable, long-legged airliner.

Delta and United both re-engined these very comfortable aircraft with the CFM56 in the 1980's and they served well for a number of years more. Wide aisle, big windows and great seat pitch.

@Paul Cicci - Whenabouts was this picture taken?
I just loved sitting back in my seat in the cabin, with my youngster face glued to the window!

DC-10 photobomb.

The US military charters hauling PCS personnel and their families used these Stretch 8's with no bulkheads, open front to rear. In turbulence you could see the airframe twist. Weird, but not a issue.Every seat was always full.

Great photo. Loved the DC-8.
David Seider >>> I can't be 100% certain, but to me that sure looks like Herman the Duck on the tail of the propliner (far left edge of photo) so that would mean it's a North Central prop. North Central merged with Southern and they became Republic, and then Northwest acquired Republic and the entire jet inventory of the Republic fleet was repainted into Northwest livery. (The propliners were all WFU.) These clues still do not establish a definitive date for the pic, but if you do some quick research into the years the mergers took place the clues may help narrow down the time frame of this photo somewhat.
