We all know this isn't a DC-3... but it's a rather nice photo of a Nord Noratlas!
This Nordatlas is a French knock-off of a Fairchild C-119.
Not a knock-off of the C-119 as many planes were designed to similar configuration during the post-war era. I guess you could say they were all based on the C-82 packet design. However, the Nordatlas could carry much more weight than the C-119 and had better rough-field performance although the range wasn't as great. See also the Argosy and Beverly for the British equivalents.
