No, sorry no 'new' Sophia. The Webb telescope completely subsumes her mission and goes literally light years beyond. This airframe has been steadily employed for close to thirty years now, and like many 747s, it is time to retire. This photo is NASA documenting her honorable stand-down process, which will culminate with her on static display in a major museum.
Sad to see that she was retired, but JWST blows away all of SOFIA's capabilities. The good thing is that she is being retired in my neighborhood at Pima Air and Space Museum.
