The 727 will always be my favorite.
And awesome seeing one with winglets.

This trijet Boeing 727 was one of my favourite aircraft that I enjoyed travelling on, despite being rather noisy.
This resulted in it being banned from some countries

Great hand flyer, no computers.
With 3 dash-9s (JT-8D-9) that 100 would climb at .86!
But thirsty and loud.
I WAS LUCKY TO HAVE FLOWN IN ALL THREE SETS OF THE 727 AND WAS AN A&P MECHANIC ON THE 727'S.I REALLY ENJOYED FLYING THIS A/C.I HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO "BRIEF" COLLEGE STUDENTS ON A RETIRED B-727 DONATED TO THE HELENA,MONTANA AIRPORT BY FED-EX.I REALLY ENJOY DOING THIS EACH SUMMER.THE ONLY PROBLEM I EVER HAD WITH THIS A/C WAS A LOSS OF PRESSURIZATION OVER THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS WHERE WE HAD TO DESCEND TO 10,000 FT TO ACCOMMODATE PAX/CREW OXYGEN.WE DEVIATED TO IDAHO FALLS,ID.I SPOKE WITH MANY OF THE PASSENGERS WHO ,FOR THE MOST PART ENJOYED THE VIEWING OF THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS UP CLOSE.

Very pretty bird. I too have always liked the 727.

I flew on many of these, so what if they were a little noisy. A beautiful aircraft and I miss them.
I too like these beautiful birds! I have flown on couple of them. Very comfortable.
I started to like 727 only recently. Now I find it one of the prettiest, most elegant planes ever. Sadly, I flew in it only once in Peru, and I doubt there will be another chance.

And where was this picture taken, exactly?

Photo is taken at Amsterdam the Netherlands. Runway 04
As an ex Royal New Zealand Air Force Loadmaster, I crewed on the RNZAF's two B727-100 QC aircraft that were ex United Airlines. They were elegant, distinctive and evocative of their era. With over 2000 hours on type, I consider myself indeed fortunate to have experienced this part of aviation history. The B727-100 was noisy alright but climb out from a tight airfield was as close to a rocket launch you could ever experience. Today's aircraft have a sameness and blandness about them by comparison.

Thanks for a great picture. She must be in private hands now. Has had a lot of TLC
