Lockheed F-16 Fighting Falcon —
The USAF Thunderbirds roar past the crowd gathered at Pearson Airport as they head down to the lakeshore and their performance at the Canadian International Airshow

Can someone explain to this poor Canadian why the number '5' on Thunderbird 5 is applied upside-down?
When the Thunderbirds perform the "mirror" pass, the F-16 with the number 5 is upside down ... and the number "5" is then right side up.
That's a really nice group shot, Mark!
To Mark Thomas, the main explanation I've heard is because Thunderbird 5 is the one that does the majority of the inverted flying, flying upside-down that is. Excellent shot Mark!
Thanks very much guys!
Thank you for a great shot and informative comment!
