Unfortunately you are right...many of us are getting a little sensitive about this. Recently I have had two kids with neck abscesses that turned out to be TB in illegals (not from the current batch though) and one of my Anesthesiologists converted his TB test. Imagine how we use maximum protection (special mask, eye protection, gown, gloves) and are still at risk while unsuspecting passengers and crew are exposed to this airborne, highly communicable disease, often with untreatable strains. This is not pretty and is undoing one hundred years of public health principles in place to control the disease roughly equivalent to stopping the pre-operative sterilization of instruments.
