Perhaps in some cases and in appropriate locations, but NOT in the (PDX) security line next to families with innocent little kids on there way to Disneyland. That's just Wrong! Nobody what's to see that crap when they are trying to catch their connecting flight. Also, TSA have to close the check point when this happens because it could be a diversion to something more sinister. The Airlines also could sue him if he caused any flight delays. He's lucky he didn't try this crap in the southern States. He would have been charged for indecent exposer and did some jail time.

You are correct 30west. It's really a win, win policy for everyone. It insures that Gov. subsidies hangar space is not wasted for long term storage space. It also insures that pilots using these Gov. subsidies airports will have hangar space. It's flexible enough to allow storage when there is low demand for airplane storage. Sounds like everyone wins with this policy. The 64$ question is; how is it going to be enforced?

Not really. You'll be surprised what a B-52 or B-1 can do in the hands of a skilled bomber pilot. I have worked for managers that flew both airplanes and they told me of jaw dropping maneuvers and abilities of these two planes that you can't read about in a book. Rolling a B-1 in afterburner mode is not hard to do,for a skilled pilot. I doubt very seriously that it was a Colonel flying this bird. It's probably a Major or even a LTC.

I agree. Hey, Preacher1, have you ever heard the 30 mike mike on the A-10? It will scare the $h*t out of you!!!!!

That's exactly what that sounds like. It wasn't tested long enough on the production system before they upgraded the operational database. Any IT Director worth half of their paycheck knows better than that. DUMB!

The matter being addressed in this article is SECURITY,not a darn soap opera. Your lovelorn, disconsolate guy could of had a BOMB, GUN, or KNIFE on him to kill his ex and many innocence people because she dumped him.("If I can't have her ,nobody can" weak minded sicko mentality) As far as the poorly attended checkpoint, what do you want instead of stanchions, metal walls? That's find with me. However,if every checkpoint had an armed LEO with a loaded gun, doing hours of operation, you wouldn't have this problem. By the way,New Orleans have LEO's with GUNS on their checkpoints doing all hours of operation.

No VSMONKEY, don't call me steel brain. Let me clarify Homeland Security procedures for you. Neither TSA, Private Contractors or Airline gate agents can physically stop a passenger that runs by them into the sterile area. Only a Federal, State or Airport LEO)(Law Endowment Officer) has the authority to do that, in the United States of America. TSA, Private Contractors and Airline Employees can only physically restrain a passenger in self defense or to prevent injury to other passengers. Remember, this same scenario happened in New Orleans on March 20 2015. The LEO SHOT and KILLED the crazy man.

Some airports have metal stanchions which are harder to remove and would attract attention if you did. The rope stanchions are nothing but a flat rope. A little toddler could walk underneath these without attracting attention. The only way to prevent this from happening is to have an armed LEO on the check point with weapons ready and a green light to shoot to kill to prevent this from happening. Not all airports are going to foot the bill for that, because that are afraid of being sued.

This nut case removed a rope stanchion that was use to prevent access to a closed screening lane. He then high-tale it to the gate and some how got pass the airline agent at the gate. I think he just ran by the agent without stopping.(TSA and Airline employees can not physically stop anyone.) He was tracked down by airport police and removed from the plane. He also left his truck parked curbside. The bomb squad sent an ROV in to check it after seeing suspicious items in the vehicle. This nut cased an hour and thirty minute delay. They took him to the hospital to get drug and nutcase test.
