NetJets to buy Bombardier, Cessna planes worth $9.6 billion
NetJets, a private jet-sharing company owned by Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway Inc (BRK-A), said on Monday it would buy up to 425 new business jets from Bombardier Inc (BBD-B.TO) and Cessna in a deal worth $9.6 billion to expand its North American and European fleet. I wonder if Gulfstream is feeling left out..
I'm sure gulfstream is more focused on readying the G650 for production so that Netjets can order millions of dollars worth of these too.
The G650 is having problems with ASE...

The Bombardier Global 7000 and 8000; have two issues. The wingspans are out of limits for ASE, and both are over weight for ASE and TEB.

Let us face it; Warren Buffet is no fool and would not fall and smoke and mirror scamer. He did not get to his status and fortunes in life by making thoughtless; uninformed & unintelligent decisions.
If Buffet is splitting his purchases this way there has to be a good reason! What is it?
• What is Bombardier offering that Textron is not?
• Are there parts and/or a maintenance plans included in the purchase costs?
• What are the operational costs of each aircraft?
• Does Textron Cessna offer the features that he requires?
I remember the time that the Singaporean based Singapore Airline; The Australian base QANTAS airlines and a number of other airline followed suit and changed their Boeing fleet from the American Pratt & Whitney to the English Rolls Royce which gave them a 3% fuel saving this was a major saving which affected airfares hence benefited the passengers. So what are the American based companies doing wrong to be losing these contracts? Is there something that they need to learn?
As an ex-workshop manager there are too many variables to be making assumptions as none of these details have been provided in this brief. I like thing to be based on facts and not emotions.

Misleading headline. Heavy Bombardier order with firm commitment vs light Cessna order, mostly options. I hope they bank for parts, labor and downtime on the Bombardier side.
