First F-35 arrives at Eglin

Sorry to rain on peoples parades but we don't need, can't afford the F35. More pentagon waste.

But, if we stopped production it would cost the nation thousands of private industry jobs at a time when we have already lost too many jobs. We are in a bind now, but in the future, we need to spend less on defense.

It will probably wind up like the B-2, and just a small number will be built for the US. With the US having air superiority out there now with the F-16/18, do like the B52, upgrade it and keep it around.

Just remember, we have never gotten into a war because our defense was too strong! Welcome to the team JSF.

it is still cheaper than the F22 but is growing exponentially in price, when I worked on the controller ( Honeywell Avionics) 3 years ago it's price at the time was 89 million today it is closer ( I think ) to 150 million while the F22 is over 300 million. If we want to keep up with the Jones we need to keep building them - there is an old saying
"if you want peace, get ready for war" there is cost associated with peace keeping

Meh shut it about the economy, it doesn't usually get in the way of the air force...

the USA is sleeping with the enemy and has been for the past 10 years - we need this F-35 in the eventuality

Who are the Jones in this situation? We spend about 10x more on defense annually than Russia and China combined.

I don't think we have much to worry about.

the new Jones' - China & Russia - history is about to repeat itself again in the not too near futue. We have shared so much technology with these 2 countries it hurts, formerly our enemies now our buddies but for how long. Every country that the good old USA became friendly with at some point in time has become a threat sooner or later, Nicaraque, El Salvador, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan etc etc. It's like we set ourselves up for disaster, The sleeping giant is about to pounce on the USA, our good fortune in the past has always been that we used our economic skills to stay a float now we need floaters to stay above the water line and both countries ( R & C) are making these floaters but sinkable ones.......sorry about this - we are going down

Ain't a war torn or underdeveloped country that we have helped that hasn't came along and kick our $%^ in some form or fashion. Everybody talks about a global economy but you can't give away the store.

the debt ceiling - why not just remove it if the end result will be the same and that is our debt level will still be growing each year - now forecasted in 10 years to reach 25 trillion dollars ( sic). We are selling oursleves cheap, we have given away our tehnology for pitence and now we buy offshore what we made 20 years ago here at home, our economy is out the window, our future is bleak - we have not learnt anything from past history...........anyone that says we nothing to fear is smoking his socks
