New cockpit policy for Air Canada

The low hours surprised me too. This situation makes me wonder if they shouldn't go back to a three pilot cockpit in large aircraft. These aircraft require computers to control and monitor their systems because they are so complicated, but they cant do simple things on their own like add power and pull up to prevent a crash, prevent a suicide, or open a door. I'm not sure that a flight attendant would be able to do that either.

That Captain would never have been locked out of the cockpit if his wife had been riding the jump seat.

I'd be more interested in the F/O flying an A320 with 630 Hours. They haven't said if this is total time or time on type. Didn't Air France have a problem with inexperieced crew?

Félicitation à Air Canada pour sa décision qu'il y est toujours deux membres d'équipage
dans la cabine de pilotage pendant un vol, c'est un gros plus pour la sécurité des
passagers et aussi pour les agents de bord. Je suis le père d'une fille qui est agent de bord pour Air Canada je suis personnellement heureux de cette décision.

Je suis d'accord qu'un membre d'équipage soit dans le poste de pilotage quand un des deux
pilotes doit sortir du cockpit pour quelques raisons, cette personne devrais avoir quelques
notions de pilotage,comme être capable d'ouvrir la porte du cockpit de l'intérieur en cas d'urgence.
