Please DON'T land here at Garowe OK ? Because the ONLY Fire Truck we own has NO Tire On One Wheel ? So IF you do Crash Land then DON'T look for much help IF your Aircraft does happen to catch fire....

Knowing the 737 Gear as well as I do... I cannot see this happening... The gear on that plane is for all practicality fail proof. the only other time I did not see one come down was on USAir when a Ground person laid the chocks in the wheel well and they wedged between the wheel wheel and the wheel... No fault of the plane... I would bet they will find something similar, or faulty Maintenance.

The ones that I used to work on were Boeing made gear and I thought that is what they stayed with.

From a picture I have seen, another aviation news site, seems the pilots touched down about 18 inches before the runway and it resulted in the gear being forcibly ripped off.....

That would explain it... Very bad heading... Saying it collapsed and not mentioning he missed the runway. Reading the article it said it collapsed after landing and veered off the runway. Something is missing in the picture... A plane does not land, partially roll out and have a Gear collapse for no reason... Assuming he it the runway correctly this would be related to poor maintenance. If he hit hard or missed the runway then the crew really blew it and is totally crew fault.
