Goonda (Rogue/Goon) In The Air

Aggiunto

Jun 18 2015 : The Times of India (Delhi) - It's the latest VIP temper tantrum. A flight takes off but the VIP refuses to put his seat upright or switch off his cell phone. He drops food near his feet and insists the crew clean it there. He threatens to hit them with his chappal (flip-flop). The turbulence forces the captain to seek priority landing and security presence at the arrival gate. For landing the VIP refuses to put his seat upright again, then manhandles the airhostess on his way… (epaperbeta.timesofindia.com) Altro...

I have no idea how experts from this portal can help ! I only pray that this site is visited by some of the people in Indian Civil Aviation and peruse the comments .
We Indians claim to be among the best of brains in every subject and every field in the world but to what avail ?
My head hangs in shame :-(

Well, I personally think it is a culture thing in which people feel like the are entitled to more because of their positions in life. Indians I have met over here are among best and brightest. No need to hang your head in shame for something over which you have no control. At some point and time in the future, for various reasons, it will evolve.

ThanX for the sweet words . Evolve ! When ? 68 years have gone by since the British left. Since the WW II the communications improved tremendously . Transfer of information is instantaneous . Today my level of knowledge is as good an any American or any other better informed person in the world. But what are we gaining out of all this ? Nothing , a big zero . At this rate even if we evolve , others would have evolved more and we will slowly and gradually be more worse-off than those who are lagging behind us today !
About Indians over there ! They are compelled to behave , because of the majority around them being disciplined . Once back home they behave no better . Yes, yes , I know the reasons but they make no contribution to improve the system or the society around them .
Point in case is an example of what happened in Singapore last year. Some Indian contract laborers indulged in arson etc. Had it been in India , nothing much would have happened . But it was in Singapore . They were all arrested , tried and punished as per the law. Almost in no time . And it was also reported that such an incident was unheard of in the living memory of Singaporeans ! So much about evolution of Indians .
My apologies for being so pessimistic and so critical .

Well, if, over the course of time, enough people start feeling the way you do, it will evolve; probably not in our lifetime but it will get there.

Yes , at the level of national history , one's own life time is immaterial . No country grew during the life time pf the people involved . It has been like planting a fruit/nut giving tree . So is the case with a nation or environment . In India the culture to do some thing for others is diminishing rather at an alarming rate . Be it at city level or at rural level . Like most others , India gained freedom because some people thought of others , those present at that time and those of the future ! But that's totally absent today in my home land .

Didn't Nancy Pelosi, then speaker of the house once throw some kind of hissy-fit about her airline seat. Uncle Sam in order to hush her up handed her the use of her exclusive government owned B-757 to commute back and forth to Calif.
Talk about a person feeling self important she takes the cake.

I think she already had a free jet but it had to make a fuel stop westbound, thereby wasting her valuable time. Then she got the big boy and nonstop home.

She was assigned a Geewhiz that would nonstop it easily. She said it was too small for her needs and in came the 75. The only thing the Geewhiz was too small for was her head!

I don't know anything about a G III except they are cool and who wouldn't love one. Maybe with all the pax and no telling how much baggage (vodka gin JD ) and west winds they couldn't make it nonstop all the time. I get potus and a big ride. Nobody else is that important really. Not pickin on Pelosi even though my opinion of her is lower than whale turds. They just ain't worth that kind of extravagance. IMHO.

Perhaps you might research your statements regarding Ms. Pelosi..Most of what you refer to is 'mostly false'. Check with Snopes please.
