Boeing Delivers a Single 787 Built Last Year — But Still Awaits FAA Approval to Resume Broader Deliveries

Aggiunto

Boeing delivered a 787 Dreamliner to Turkish Airlines on Friday, the first handover of that jet in more than five weeks. However, that plane was issued its airworthiness certificate and cleared for delivery last fall. That was before 787 deliveries were initially halted in October following the discovery of defects at the fuselage joins on some aircraft due to a manufacturing issue. bonuses and continued employment seem to be the rewards to the Board of directors and upper management at Boeing for these kinds of results and worse.

Sorry to say folks, this is not about aviation but stock prices and bonuses.

I'm sure their clueless management isn't learning anything from this.

Hire non-union unskilled workers, treat them like crap, and...

I have lost all faith in Boeing!!

Yeah....except that the union guys in Renton are putting out crap as well..soooooo.....there goes your argument. I've been on 6 different 787s built in S. Charleston. I k ow because I log each aircraft tail number with each flight. All aircraft were solid. The issue Boeing is dealing with is the FAA now over scrutinizing every aspect of Boeing's inspection processes resulting from the MAX debacle. Which they should've been doing all along. This has noting to do with union non-union labor.

Well the Max debacle is concrete proof that Boeing cannot scrutinize itself. The FAA and Boeing simply developed a too-cozy relationship (and gov't is to blame for allowing that) over the years and as a result, , , , many people died.

The alternative to the too-cozy relationship you mention would require the FAA's budget to balloon to about 10x it's current level. Complaining isn't going to make it happen.

What is the cost of a life? Easy when the discussion happens in a vacuum BUT if a death was a member of the family, may I humbly suggest that the accounting excuse would go out the window.
