Biden pushing airlines to go beyond refunds for delayed or canceled flights

Aggiunto

President Joe Biden and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg want to require more generous passenger compensation from airlines who cancel or delay flights, the latest effort by the administration to improve the flying experience ahead of a busy summer travel season. On Monday the Transportation Department proposed a rule that would require airlines to go beyond refunds when airlines delay or cancel a flight — such as offering a meal or meal voucher, overnight accommodations, ground… (www.politico.com) Altro...

So, then will they (the government) compensate passengers when flights are delayed or canceled because of ATC issues?

Or the church (whichever one of about a million in the USA), if their god decides to throw shitty weather all the time. Seems so many forget about the clear skies where they are and forget about the heavy rain, storms, tornados, snow about anywhere else. It's a big country ya know.

There will be a stipulation that they only hane to pay if the delay is the fault of the airline. Then simply blame the weather or ATC. Kinda like they do now.

Did any of you even read the article? Or are you all too caught up in a single letter placed between parenthesis behind a persons name? Existing rules around delays and cancellations only force airlines to keep you updated and allow you to exit the aircraft if you're delayed on the tarmac. All that this change will do is force airlines to be responsible for getting YOU, the travelling public, compensated for your lost time or find other ways to get you to your destination in cases of airline controllable delays (not weather like you've all commented on). The fact that you all reject something because of who presented the topic is a clear sign of how gullible the entire American public is, regardless of if you're on the left or right. Stop reciting tired old lines that politicians and political pundits force down your throat. THINK for yourself for once and see that while politicians on both sides are supposed to be working for us, they've convinced you to fight against each other for them. Now go ahead and down vote me...call me a proud boy, woke, antifa, or whatever online insult tag you're using these days are. While I know I won't sway your opinion with this, take it as an example of what YOUR online comments are doing in terms of convincing people of your argument. It's time to wake up and think for ourselves.

If refund, it should come from Biden... He is such an Idiot... So a flight is scheduled and canceled due to Weather the Airline is responsible and should have canceled it Months ago based on a forecast that is not going to be be released for months... Or we should Schedule A/C break downs to only Break down at night when entering a RON stations for Maintenance... Buttigieg is about as less certified to over see transportation than my dog!

All you had to say is “such an idiot” we knew who you were referring to! As to Buttigieg he had absolutely no background in transportation issues yet he oversees and administers an 88 Billion dollar budget.

Every one knows how wrong your statement is, NOT OR EVER WILL BE.This administration will turn out to be with Biden, Harris, Buttjig and others in it making stupid comments, no comments, decisions which hurt Union workers like the RR engineers and conductors. Trying to run things there way with no hope of success there way. The list is so long and stupid it would take the failures a dozen or more past administrations to come even close to this ones damage so far and not over yet.

Ironic that you're calling someone an idiot when you clearly didn't even bother to read the statement in the article that says, "...if passengers experience significant delays or cancellations that are caused by something within the airlines control such as a mechanical issue."
