Would anyone really pay for his flight?

Usually the higher flight numbers are maintenance or re positioning flights if i'm not mistaken.

This is an Aircraft ferry flight. Either to empty move an aircraft that is regulated unsafe with passengers and flight attendants, to move an aircraft to replace a broken airplane, to return a fixed aircraft back into service. And sometime an airline uses flight numbers to charter flights but they are a specific range with in the high numbers.
