Navy E/A-6B crashes in rural Washington state
A Navy aircraft has crashed in a rural area in Washington, a Navy official tells Fox News. The E/A-6B Prowler went down around 50 miles from Spokane, and the status of the pilots is still under investigation. (At posting, very little info available) (www.foxnews.com) Altro...Story says wingman didn't see any chutes
From the angle of the crater it looks like it went straight in. R.I.P.
Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds...and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of...wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew.
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

And credit where it's due...
"High Flight" was written by P/O John Gillespie Magee, Jr, who was serving as a Spitfire pilot with No 412 (Fighter) Squadron, RCAF.
Nice touch to combine amateur and incorrect crash analysis with the uncredited tribute.
