McDonnell Douglas DC-10 (HB-IHA) - This is a postcard I purchased back in the early 1970's. I did not photograph this image! It depicts a McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30 arriving with folks viewing the aircraft above the arrival gate. Also in the scene is a partial front part of the national airlines of Spain, Iberia. A commenter has noted that Iberia is a DC-8-52. br /Cielo despejado para nuestros miembros espanoles.

Thanks for the comment. DC10, L1011 and the Boeing 747's were all in that jumbo class of Aircraft back then. One of them survived much longer.

The Iberia airplane in the background looks like a DC-8 super 62.

TOPBOSS:

I was taking my best guess on the Iberia in the background. Best to just note that the plane is in the photo and leave it at that. I am changing the description.

Curious......who are you? Clicking on TOPBOSS reveals absolute nothing and doesn't recognize you as a member with that handle.

Topboss / warmwynds: That Iberia airliner back there is a DC-8-52. A few clues give it away: gray variations of the -52 engines (oppose to the -62 as guessed below); # of windows ahead of first over-wing exit; and the exact placement of the Iberia title above those same windows - specific only to the -52. Also note the 'ole articulated airport passenger bus in the foreground; the only active ones left in the world like these can be found at Copper Mountain Ski Resort in Colorado.

Thanks for the info on the Iberia in the background. I added it to the description.
