Interesting that with the Beech 17,the stagger of the mainplanes puts the upper wing LE aft of the lower wing LE...but in the case of the de Havilland DH82, which was a few years earlier in aeronautical design, the opposite is the case!

I can't add too much to the discussion, but the "nose art" flash says "Indian National Airways". That is from a photo I have of this aircraft from last year's Oshkosh show.

Sn 233 delivered to Indian national airlines 1938. Used til 1940s, imported 1970s to us, restoration began in 2006.

Today's planes may be faster and easier to maintain and certainly easier to climb into but there is nothing more beautiful than a Staggerwing!
