For a boy born in 1941 the BeeGee was a marvel during his model airplane years. Prior to TV the movie reels of Racing was an awesome addition to a Saturday matinee. That is one model you could build, but never get to fly, A rubber band just didn't make up for that huge radial.

These were built in my hometown, Springfield, MA. Granville Brothers. Built for speed. 1934.

This reproduction model has a R-1820, 1450hp.

This appears to be a two place Milkbottle. Who built this and was it more or less stable than the single place?

Q.E.D. - Literally, "I proved what I set out to"

This 'repro' was built in 2013. Great shot.

For some r3eason I am reminded of a Russian Polikarpov WWII? Anyone remember (or know) of this aircraft?

I believe this aircraft was built by Steve Wolf. Also builds very beautiful Pitts.

A GeeBee replica is at the Planes of Fame, Chino, CA (KCNO). DooLittle was one of the few to survive flying the GeeBee -- had a tenancy to snaproll of not landed with great care.
