N716JT — - This is a friends Corsair. It has a story. in November of 2001 this aircraft crashed approx. 1/4 mile off the end of runway 31 at KCUB during a Veterans Day celebration. The pilot was killed and the aircraft struck from FAA registry as a total loss. The co-owner and son of the pilot kept the wreckage in hopes of a rebuild. Many friends insisted he turn the project over to a warbird shop in Colorado. He did and with the extensive records kept the aircraft was resurrected with same registration and serial number. It made front page on several aviation magazines. The Corsair is named "Korean War Hero" as a flying memorial to all Korean War vets.
