I usually am not a commenter but this is the second time tried to correct a photo caption that was correct, i.e. fake news! The FAA model designator for this aircraft is A185F - a Cessna 185 on floats. This is the second instance this with the past month. Before you comment, make sure you know what you are talking about. Just because the flight aware activity log says it, does make it so.
FAA Registry confirms Cessna A185F.
Type designators used by FA are not from the FAA, they're from ICAO. All are four characters or fewer. C185 is correct for this, even though that covers eleven different models.
Great photo, a very cool aircraft and such an iconic scene from Alaska. PAFA is absolutely at the top of my list of airports that I want to spot at.
