Where did you take this from?

Hey George, I took this shot from the beach at the Toronto Island Airport (Billy Bishop) during the Labor Day weekend Airshow. Took the ferry across to the Island and walked to the beach and then all the way along the beach until you get to the runway threshold. The fence just stops at the waters edge but a sign warns that if you venture past the sign "You WILL be arrested"! Depending on wind direction the Porter and Air Canada Dash 8's either line up and head East or, like this one, head West out over the lake. The CN Tower making for a nice backdrop. Hope this helps...

Great location! I've been there several times, once last fall and once this spring.

Awesome photo. Which ferry did you take? The airport ferry or Ward Island ferry? I would love to find that beach and get some pics.

Thanks Andre! It must have been the Ward Island Ferry, we walked for quite a while until we found the beach (mainly because it was my first time there and I didn't know where I was going!) but when you do finally find the beach, just keep going and you'll end up at the runway!
