At 7:08 a.m., the wing of a Southwest 737 aircraft being pushed back from the gate hit a horizontal stabilizer of a parked Jet Blue A320 aircraft, Massport said.
"The actual impact was very subtle. You heard it and it was a slight bump," passenger Marcia Mitchell Cardello said.
The was some damage to both planes. The incident happened between Terminals C and E.
"I just looked out the window and saw that, yeah, we had hit the airplane next door" Mitchell Cardello said.
No injuries were reported and the incident did not impact airport operations, Massport said.
"I wasn't worried at first. I didn't really realize that we had hit another plane. It just kind of felt like a vibration or a jolt. Something, you know, you experience as turbulence or something, but I mean we weren't in the air at all," Dubois said.
Southwest flight 4552 was headed to Kansas City. Southwest said it was working to reschedule the 108 passengers aboard.
"They have actually given us a $200 voucher per person and they have offered to get us on different connecting flight, I'm headed to Dallas and so or flight to Kansas City and then connect out and so they've taken care of that immediately and everything's been really smooth," Dubois said.
The Jet Blue plane was empty.
The FAA is investigating the incident.
